Posted on February 15, 2018 by HungarianTeacher

Happy New Year of the Dog!

Vocabulary for beginners

city-night-explosion-firework

Not only grammatical, but cultural irregularities there are (though irregularity is only a question of perspective, if you ask me 🙂 ):

On 16 February, according to Chinese culture the world had entered the new era of the Dog.

Boldog új évet kívánok!

As respecting the event let’s see the Chinese horoscopes in Hungarian also!
1)Look at this picture for 3 minutes. Then go further!

2)Can you name these animals?
For example:

ez_nyúl majom_és_ló tigris_és_kakas

3)Can you name all the animals? Try it!
There is a trick hidden in this picture, a new animal.
Which one is that? Can you name it in Hungarian?

Naah, which animal is the new one?
If you didn’t know the Hungarian name of cat, look it up from an online dictionary.
Here is an example: https://dictzone.com/hungarian-english-dictionary/macska

Replay the game as long as you feel like! 🙂

4) Fill in the gap your zodiac! Learn the sentences!

You don’t know which era you were  born in? Look at the table below!
Then fill in the gap your zodiac! Don’t forget to memorize the sentences above!

Let’s see what you have learnt today.

  1. names of animals and Chinese zodiacs
  2. a sentence about your zodiac
  3. your Chinese zodiac
  4. a short dialogue about your zodiac

In the upcoming post you may expand your knowledge with describing the personality according to the particular zodiacs.

Plus, higher level students can also practice in the same post!

To be continued!
